Today we will start off by adding to our Tool ID Brochures. Please add the following three tools to your brochure: 12" disc sander, oscilating spindle sander, and compound square. I will be coming around and checking off your Part 1, the first ten of your Tool ID Brochure.
In response to the wet weather we will be dusting off and brushing up on our SketchUp skills. Please watch the online tutorials for SketchUp as a warm up to using the program. Your participation will be checked for a grade. After doing so, we will then do some quick boomerang research and start designing our own boomerangs. The link is....Video Tutorials

I will be coming around and checking off your Part 1, the first ten of your Tool ID Brochure.

Today we will continue working on our Screech Owl Boxes. It is my goal that all groups start putting them together before the day is through. We will be focusing on attention to detail by evenly spacing our nails and screws, and sanding down all edges and glue joints.
Wednesday
Before you start working on your Tool Id Brochures, be sure and download Agricultural Mechanics Tool ID Manual.pdf. This document was put together by Dr. Spiess and students at Chico State University. Dr. Spiess is in charge of the Ag Mechanics contest for California FFA and is a total tool buff. This document will really help you build and organize your Tool ID Brochures.
Today is a work day. We will be starting our custom boomerangs. Be sure to share your designs with each other before cutting them out so we can lay them out effectively and save as much wood as possible. Please check with me on where you should shave the angles.
Thursday First Quarter Survey
Please complete the above survey as quickly as possible. I need you to take some time and fill out the 1st Quarter Survey for me. This is like my report card to check and make sure I am doing everything I can to make this experience the best possible for you. Your honesty and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
After doing so, please complete the next five entries in your Tool ID Brochures. Be sure to download the Agricultural Mechanics Tool ID Manual.pdf. This will greatly help you during this project. All the photos and descriptions are now in one place for you to find and use. Once that is complete we will continue working on our Screech Owl Boxes.

Today we will finish our boomerangs and have a throwing contest. First one to actually catch their boomerang wins. Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone.
